Okay folks, how do you deal with loneliness? I've moved to a new town, live near my daughter and her family, and active in church; however, I still spend a majority of my time alone. I'm beginning to think that I'm socially inept. I'm open to any suggestions or ideas.27 January 2026, Tuesday
I have found a way to combat the loneliness most of the time. I aquired two wonderful cats six years ago to keep me company. I volunteer at the hospital once a week and at the local museum seasonal. I also paricipate in D.A.R. Through my volunteering and being involved I've gotten to know folks around town (and people who visit from out of town). I feel more like I belong because I run into people I know around town as run errands or go shopping. I still have my lonely days but they are fewer.

I go to the local library and cruse the Isles and see what book jumps me. Good reading. Sometimes I find a how to craft book, and sometimes, there are some events posted where their will be activities to attend.
